Betty Bea Washburn

Betty Bea has been painting for over 40 years.  She grew up in Indiana but has been living in Michigan most of her adult life.  She taught art in Marshall, Michigan for over 30 years and now resides in Bellaire, Michigan.  The colors she achieves with her watercolors are amazing.  She finds inspiration in area landscapes, gardens, and historical sights.  Betty Bea is intrigued by watercolor relationships:  the harmony between the physical properties of the medium, the effect of the atmosphere on the subject matter, and the use of color as a means of creating an internal glow.  Her goal is to infuse the paintings with energy that remains within the work long after the brush has been lifted from the paper.
